Bring your sweetheart to where the sugar is tapped! Buckle up for a guided jeep tour of the Cabot Trail's Margaree Valley with Cape Breton Backcountry Adventures. Hear local stories and insights on the region's rich history, from the local wildlife and fishing to the stunning landscape. Stopping at Margaree Maple, you'll wander through the maple grove and learn how maple syrup is made during a guided tour and syrup tasting. Take a little home with you! We recommend pancakes in the Cookhouse before check-out!

Check in: 2 Nights in our cozy Ravens Roost cottage with a Deluxe Sauna: Day 1
Count on us to have the wood stove going in the Raven’s Roost! We will transport your bags to the door and provide snowshoes for your walk up to the accommodation and for hiking the trails.
We will also have the fire going for you in the wood-fire sauna later that evening. We will tend to the stove for you. Supply robes, sandals, cold non-alcoholic local ciders & fruit.
Let us do the work of booking your backcountry tour so you can focus on creating memories and learning about the real history of Cape Breton with Mac! You will love learning about how to tap trees and make maple syrup while you enjoy the scenery of Margaree.

Solo Escape Package
We host a lot of solo adventurers (and their dogs) who are looking for a full-on wilderness experience. We think the Hummingbird Pod is the perfect place to launch an adventurous, solo retreat. This pod is up the mountain enough to enjoy our amazing view but is pretty close to the parking lot, too.
Hummingbird Pod connects closely to the wood-fired sauna, as well. Your first night we will have a sauna ready for you after check-in. We will make sure it is too temperature, we will show you how to prep the sauna for yourself, and you can enjoy it for however long you like. Book it again anytime before you leave.
Its also near the Washhouse and the Cookhouse.

2 Nights in the Hummingbird Pod
Pet / Cleaning fees included (1 dog limit)
2 sessions in the wood-fired sauna (we prep the first one, you prep the second)
Sally’s Breakfast Basket: granola, yogurt, oatmeal, "Made With Local" Real Food bars, and preserves
A guide book for practicing Shinrin-Yoku Forest Bathing. A take-home guide will be supplied to you to continue this wellness practice
